Gate House Museum
Gatehouse Museum The collection of audio tapes from the Gate House Museum was collected from the early 1980's through the early 2000's by curator Jim Perman. This extensive collection captures the reminiscences of senior residents of the Sykesville area, going as far back as the late 1800's. They include discussions about what the community was like as a bustling railroad town, even before automobiles were popular.

Leister's Store
The audio archives for the Gate House Museum were collected by Jim Purman, a resident of Sykesville from 1956 to 2004. Jim was the curator of the Gate House Museum until September 1974 and was very active in the Sykesville community. He recognized the value of capturing the memories of long-standing town residents and this web page is dedicated to his memory.
